Mahube-Otwa Awarded Blue Cross Blue Shield Foundation Grant:

The Mahube-Otwa Community Action Partnership, Inc. received a $125,000 grant from the Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Minnesota Foundation to help eligible low-income Minnesotan access health care coverage in an 18-county of northwestern and west central Minnesota. The funds will be used to assist low income individuals and families apply for Prepaid Medical Assistance and Minnesota Care, enabling them to access health care coverage.  Mahube-Otwa will work with five other community action agencies including:  Bi-County Community Action, Inter-County Community Council, Lakes and Prairies Community Action, Northwest Community Action, and Tri-Valley Opportunity Council, to develop and implement the program.

“Our Agency is proud to work with the Blue Cross and Blue Shield Foundation in developing a region-wide protocol to help uninsured Minnesotans access health insurance.  We hope that the work we do, with our regional partners, will result in reaching eligible populations access the health care they need,” stated Leah Pigatti, executive director of Mahube-Otwa Community Action Partnership.
