Child Passenger Resource Center

The Child Passenger Resource Center is a pilot project funded by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and the Minnesota Department of Public Safety.

The Resource Center was developed with Minnesota in mind and is designed to address child passenger safety issues that are unique to Northern Minnesota. A variety of services and materials are provided by the Resource Center, including:

  • Child Passenger Safety Education: Family education/parent training, Child Passenger Safety Practitioner Certification, plus National Highway Traffic Safety training and certifications.

  • "Try It Before You Buy It": A wide variety of child restraint seats are available for parents and care givers to try, including special needs and school bus certified restraints.

  • Materials and Resources include printed materials, posters, videos, air bag information, child restraint manufacturer information, and parent training materials.

  • A Permanent Fitting Station is located on site and available by appointment. Replacement seats are available to those in need.

          •      A Mobile Fitting Station Van doubles as a "resource center
                on wheels", and can be brought right to you.

          •      Participation in Community Events and the Development
                of Child Passenger Safety Programming and Inspection
                Stations in Your Community.

     The Resource Center is locted at the Mahube Community
     Council office in Park Rapids.
